Featuring an electrified drivetrain, e-axle architecture, smart battery system and cooperative regenerative braking to enable an all-day route on a single charge with zero emissions. Plus, it’s the only electric refuse vehicle that’s certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Electrified Drivetrain

Advanced lithium-ion batteries and an electric-axle system enable a full day’s refuse collection on a single charge with zero emissions. Plus, a B10 rating of 300,000 miles.

High battery capacity

With a battery capacity approximately 20% higher on average, the vehicle delivers an extended range. This helps to service more homes and complete more routes.

Smart battery management system

Delivers advanced load-shedding capabilities based on critical levels, increasing the number of battery charge/discharge cycles to preserve battery life. And if the remaining battery charge gets too low, the system will limit specific non-essential functions like HVAC.

CARB and EPA certified

McNeilus Volterra ZSL is the only eRCV that’s earned three certifications from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Providing customers with a solution to achieve their sustainability goals and meet EV requirements.
